Grounding Candle Dressing

As we get closer and closer to the kids being on summer break (if they aren't already), we find that maybe our energy isn't as stable as we thought it would be. Grounding can be a challenging thing for many of us people. Even those who have been well seasoned (like myself) still can find it a strugglesome to ground. Here is a candle dressing that can help in times of struggle when you've had a challenging day or when you just need your mind to be firmly planted in this current space and time. The plant ingredients are best found in your own backyard or your nearest city park. These items are connected to the earth Spirits that reside in your area.

What you'll need:

Patchouli

Dirt From your yard or park

Local dry flowers and their petals

Twigs from your nearest tree

Brown candles 🕯 (Chimes)

If you do not have Patchouli, Patchouli Oil is a very good alternative.

Directions:

Gather all of your dry ingredients together. Place them all together in a bowl making sure that the twigs or branches are small. If they cannot be broken easily, simply use them around your candle as a decoration to your ceremony.

If you have Patchouli Oil:

Roll each chime candle in 7 drops of oil.

While the oil is freshly anointed on your chime, gently roll the candle in your dry ingredients focusing fully on the intention to ground any excess energy, overwhelming thoughts, stressors, and uncontrollable situations into the candle and ask the Earth Spirits and Angels to burn them away from you.

If you do not have Patchouli Oil, Olive Oil will be your alternative.

Use 7 drops per chime candle and follow the directions above.

Each candle must be placed at each cardinal point within your home. If you fear that your pets or children will disturb the flames, you can op to do this outside in the twilight hours.

Place each candle at your cardinal points and place yourself in the center. Once they are lit, sit quietly and watch the flow of the flames with a soft gaze making sure to breathe in and out in your natural rhythm.

When the candles have finished, simply say,

"May peace be with you and with me. Thank you for your help."

If any wax is left you may leave it on soil outside of the home to be one with the earth.

Happy grounding everyone!
